October 20, 2010

The day has finally come and I'm just about to  leave to the airport to begin my journey in India! After frantically stuffing my back pack last night until 1 AM, I finally managed to fit everything I need to last almost 3 weeks in the Himalayans. I woke up this morning at 5 am to complete my last run before the big race (which technically starts Oct 25th) and I'll ready to get my run on!!! I have 5 days to complete 100 miles through the Himalayans at 12,000 ft elevation. "Why would I do that?" you may ask. I'm running to find a cure for Huntington's Disease.

HD is a genetically caused brain disorder that causes uncontrollable bodily movements and robs people's ability to walk, talk, eat, and think. An estimated 30,000 Americans have it, and at least 300,000 more are at risk.

Please support my efforts to find a cure for this devastating disease by making a donation today.

To keep everyone posted on the race, I will try to update my blog whenever there is internet available. I'm sooo excited to begin this adventure! Alright.. I'm outta here!!!
